Network APIs could become one of the most valuable trust layers in digital life, for people and increasingly for the software acting on their behalf. The value is proven. What is not yet proven is that it can be repeated across customers, telcos and markets. Closing that gap is not a technology problem. It comes down to how telcos decide, what they give up and who they build with. Telcos are among the toughest technology buyers in the world. With network APIs, they now sit on the other side of the table, where Nicolai Schättgen has spent more than a decade bringing innovation into telcos, from first meeting to signed contract. The forum's theme becomes three demands: the Ambition to make the network indispensable for a few high-value problems, the Boldness to change what stands in the way, from decision rights to SMS OTP economics, and the Collaboration to make many networks feel like one product, as telcos already did with roaming.
